Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between patient-centered care and the patient experience according to inpatients. Additionally, the effect of patient-centered care on the patient experience was explored. Methods Using a structured-questionnaire, data were collected from 147 inpatients in a tertiary care hospital for the period October 12-24, 2021. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé’s test, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and a multiple linear regression using SPSS/WIN 26.0. Results Patient-centered care was positively correlated with the patient experience (r=.66, p<.001), and patient-centered care was found to be a variable affecting the patient experience. Further, explanatory power was assessed at 43%. Conclusion The results of this study indicate that the provision of individualized care must reflect patient-centered care to ensure a positive patient experience, and nurses should not only perform interventions through medication or nursing processes, but also by listening to and interacting with patients based on their needs.

Purpose This study examined the subjective frame of patient satisfaction in the comprehensive nursing care services and explored future directions by investigating subjective frame types.
Methods: P-Samples were collected from 30 patients who underwent the comprehensive nursing care service. To enable a forced normal distribution, 31 Q-samples were classified on a 9-point scale considering the degree of agreement. The collected data were analyzed by principal component factor analysis and varimax rotation using the PQ method program.
Results: The subjective frame of patient satisfaction with the comprehensive nursing care service was divided into four types. Considering the characteristics of each, the types were labeled as “the formation of relationships with the surroundings”, “autonomous decision-making”, “non-verbal empathy”, and “therapeutic support resources”. Each type can be classified into therapeutic relationship and therapeutic process categories.
Conclusion: This study revealed changes in expectations regarding new medical services and that the subjective frames that affect the formation of satisfaction are diverse. The study results are expected to be used as basic data to develop strategies for creating a therapeutic environment that improves patient satisfaction in the comprehensive nursing care service.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of the relationship between nurses working on comprehensive nursing care service wards and the inpatients on those wards.
Methods: The phenomenological research method was used. Participants in the study were seven women.
Data were collected through individual in-depth interviews from December, 2018 to January, 2019 Results: Five theme clusters were extracted that described nurses’ patient experiences for comprehensive nursing care service wards. They are “Expansion of relationship formation”, “Transition of place to provide nursing care”, “Expansion of communication”, “Maintaining professional boundaries” and “Realization of professional nursing”.
Conclusion: The results of this study provide a deep understanding and insight in to the nature for nurses on comprehensive nursing care service wards and patients' relationships. It is thought that active development of strategies to support positive relationships will enhance the quality of the comprehensive nursing care service wards and help improve patient care outcomes.

PURPOSE This study was conducted to identify meaning and essential structure of the hospitalization of patients in nursing care integrated service wards of small and medium-size general hospitals. METHODS Experiential data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 patients who had been hospitalized in nursing care integrated service wards of medium general hospitals. The main question was ‘Could you describe your hospitalization experience in nursing care integrated service wards of medium general hospitals?’, and collected data were analyzed using Colaizzi's Phenomenological Research Method. RESULTS Four categories obtained were ‘Realize the system that is not established yet’, ‘Secure care services which are less of a psychological and financial burden’, ‘Thanks for care providers’, and ‘Confident of the hopeful system to desire to reuse in the future.’ CONCLUSION: Patients in nursing care integrated service wards of small and medium-size general hospitals were satisfied with the reduction of mental and financial burden caused by nursing and were thankful to nursing staff, who put a lot of efforts into nursing. But, at the same time, they were confused and inconvenienced by the services that were not yet completely established. To improve this situation, it is thought that institutional complements including development of a service standardization manual would be helpful.

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to develop a patient classification system based on nursing care intensity for patients with acute stroke-related symptoms and verify its validity and reliability. METHODS Data were collected between November, 2013 and February, 2014. The verification for content validity of the patient classification system was conducted by a group of seven professionals. Both interrater reliability and concurrent validity were verified at stroke units in tertiary hospitals. RESULTS The intensive nursing care for acute stroke patients consisted of 14 classified domains and 56 classified contents by adding 'neurological assessment and observation' and 'respiratory care': 'hygiene', 'nutrition', 'elimination', 'mobility and exercise', 'education or counselling', 'emotional support', 'communication', 'treatment and examination', 'medication', 'assessment and observation', 'neurological assessment and observation', 'respiratory care', 'coordination between departments', and 'discharge or transfer care'. Each domain was classified into four levels such as Class I, Class II, Class III, and ClassIV. CONCLUSION The results show that this patient classification system has satisfactory validity for content and concurrent and verified reliability and can be used to accurately estimate the demand for nursing care for patients in stroke units.

PURPOSE This study was done to suggest policies for nurse workforce based on patient safety. METHODS The two steps in developing the items were items related to what would be desirable policies and items on how the policies should be developed for patient safety regarding nurse workforce. A literature review was done and suggestions from experts through two rounds using the Delphi technique were outlined. The fifteen experts who participated in this study were six representatives of service consumers and nine representatives of service providers (four medical doctors and fives nurses). RESULTS To guarantee patient safety, accreditation of nursing practice and nursing education were found to be necessary, and to prevent medical and nursing accidents in clinical practice, the professional judgement of the nurses was found to be pivotal to the provision of safe nursing services. CONCLUSION Polices on nursing for the nurse workforce based on patient safety in clinical settings should be established to ensure that nursing care is provided according to the nurses' clinical judgements based on their professional knowledge and assessment skills.
