Purpose This study aimed to explore the influence of teamwork and grit on job adaptation and intention to remain among advanced beginner nurses. Methods A cross-sectional descriptive research design employing a survey method was used. The study involved 203 advanced beginner nurses with 13~36 months of experience working at a tertiary hospital. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results Job adaptation positively correlated with teamwork (r=.58, p<.001) and grit (r=.65, p<.001). Intention to remain was also positively correlated with teamwork (r=.32, p<.001) and grit (r=.59, p<.001). A hierarchical multiple regression model including control variables, teamwork, and grit accounted for 64% of the factors influencing job adaptation. Another hierarchical multiple regression model, incorporating control variables, teamwork, and grit, explained 44% of the factors influencing the intention to remain. Among the related factors, grit emerged as the most influential in regarding job adaption and intention to remain. Conclusion These findings underscore the importance of establishing a support system to bolster grit, enhancing adaptation to the job and fostering intention to remain among advanced beginner nurses.
Purpose This study aimed to investigate the influences of teamwork and job burnout on patient safety management activities (PSMA) among operating room nurses.
Methods: We collected cross-sectional data from 144 operating room nurses with at least 1 year of clinical experience. Teamwork had five subscales (team structure, leadership, situation monitoring, mutual support, and communication) and burnout had two subscales (exhaustion and disengagement). We used descriptive statistics, t-tests, analysis of variance, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression.
Results: PSMA had significant positive correlations with all subscales of teamwork and had a significant negative correlation with disengagement. Multiple regression analysis revealed that gender, clinical career in operating room, number of patient safety education, accreditation evaluation experience, team structure, and situation monitoring were associated with PSMA. Specifically, we found significant positive associations of team structure (β=.31, p<.001) and situation monitoring (β=.23, p=.039) with PSMA. Disengagement was not associated with PSMA after adjusting for confounders despite a significant correlation.
Conclusion: To improve operating room nurses’ PSMA, it is important to improve their awareness of the team structure and their ability to monitor the operating room situation.

Purpose This study was aimed to identify the effects of professional autonomy and teamwork on clinical performance to improve the clinical performance of tertiary hospital nurses.
Methods: Data were collected from June 1 to June 30, 2017 and a total of 172 nurses from three tertiary hospitals participated in this study. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson’s correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis using SPSS 25.0.
Results: Clinical performance showed a statistical difference depending on the number of education session for competency, and it showed a positive correlation with professional autonomy and teamwork. The factors affecting the clinical performance of the tertiary hospital nurses included in teamwork (β=.40, p<.001), professional autonomy (β=.27, p<.001). These factors accounted for 31% of clinical performance (p<.001).
Conclusion: It is important to find ways to improve clinical performance of tertiary hospital nurses. Furthermore, there is a need to include continuous and systemic education programs for professional autonomy and suitable programs to elevate teamwork.

Purpose This study was performed to compare the perceived level of trust, collaboration, and teamwork about other healthcare personnel, professionals and assistants between nurses who work on integrated nursing care service wards and general wards. Methods Participants were 216 nurses working on integrated nursing care service wards and general wards of 5 general hospitals located in Kyeongido and Kyeongsangbuk-do (integrated nursing wards: 109, general wards: 107). Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using x 2 test, two sample independent t-test and Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) with SPSS/WIN 23.0 programs. In particular, MANCOVA was conducted after controlling two independent variable covariants which are marital status (p=.045) and work department (p=.022) which had significant differences for both groups and three dependent variables which is trust, collaboration, and teamwork that highly correlated. Results There were significant differences in the dependent variables of trust (p=.001), collaboration (p=.014), and teamwork (p<.001) between the two groups of nurses. The mean scores for trust, collaboration, and teamwork with other healthcare personnel as perceived by nurses working on integrated nursing care service wards were significantly lower than that of nurses on general wards. Conclusion These findings show that strategies are needed to strengthen the trust, collaboration, and teamwork among nurses working on integrated nursing care service wards and other healthcare personnel.

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of patient safety culture and perceived teamwork on the safety control of nurses. METHODS This study was conducted as a descriptive cross-sectional survey with 141 nurses who worked in a tertiary hospital with over 1,000 beds in S city, Gyeonggi province. Data were collected using structured questionnaires from July 20, to July, 31, 2015. RESULTS The average work period for nurses participating in the research was 8.84 years. The perceived teamwork and patient safety culture were positively correlated with safety control. The regression model with patient safety culture, perceived teamwork and clinical career against safety control was statistically significant (F=10.16, p<.001). This model also explained 37.1% of safety control (Adj. R2=.37). Especially, communication (β=.27, p=.023) of patient safety culture, clinical career (β=.26, p<.001), mutual support (β=.24, p=.042), and team leadership (β=.24, p=.018) in perceived teamwork were identified as factors influencing safety control. CONCLUSION The findings of this study imply that a broad approach including teamwork and patient safety culture should be considered to improve the safety control for nurses.
